You Need Momentum, Here’s How to Get It

Today’s topic…

Creating a Momentum Mindset.

Momentum is a peculiar thing.

It is palpable when you have it, you can feel it – there’s an energy behind it.

You can’t see it, but it certainly leaves clues.

Have you ever effortlessly attracted new students into your program, or maybe out of seemingly nowhere you hit a new revenue goal?

Chances are you were in a Momentum Mindset.

And on the contrary, have you ever felt like nothing is going your way and everything seems like a struggle?

If momentum is off, you’re going to struggle to grow your business or even attract the right people into your business.

To make sure this doesn’t happen to you, I recorded this week’s episode of The Expert Edge all on the 3 strategies you can use today, to develop your Momentum Mindset.

Here’s a glimpse at these strategies…

1. Find the gain

There’s a great book I recommend called “The Gap & The Gain” by Dan Sullivan. He discusses that it’s more beneficial to actually look backwards & focus on the “gains” you’ve made as opposed to looking forward and focusing on the “gap” of where you are now compared to where you want to be. The gap creates a perpetual feeling of not being enough whereas the gain creates a mindset of accomplishment and confidence – leading to momentum.

2. Try on an identity

Act as if you’re a certain person already even if you aren’t that person. “Try on the sweater, if it doesn’t fit take it off”. Most people say this is who I am, I can’t change, I don’t have permission to speak on stage, I’m not good enough to be an expert.

This is just the programming you’ve had in your life up until this point making you believe this is who you are. Start acting as if you’re the person you want to be already. Maybe that’s a 7 figure coach. How would that person act?

3. Anticipate good things

When you’re not in a momentum mindset you’re not anticipating good things. You’ll say things like “Knowing my luck…” “That always happens to me” etc… have you ever caught yourself saying this to yourself?

This mindset will have you noticing the bad and reinforcing that bad things happen to you. Instead, shift the talk in your head to something empowering and always anticipate that good things will come of it. Your expectations form the focus you have in terms of that experience.

As always…
