My #1 most powerful persuasion tactic

The other night a friend of mine, JD, recommended a new modern american restaurant in Newport Beach.

I booked instantly and the experience was amazing.

I didn’t check the reviews on yelp or the photos.

I just booked it because I trust his opinion.

This is also known in marketing terms as…

…Social Proof.

Nothing influences someone to buy or not buy something more than social proof.

Social proof comes in a variety of forms…

I’ll touch on a few of them below and how you can go about adding social proof to your webinar or programs.

The first is User Testimonials:

– Nothing is more powerful than having a testimonial from somebody that has gone through your program & leaves you a glowing review. The easiest way to get these is to simply ask.

This is an example from my Sell From Stage ELITE™ program.

Testimonials like these can work wonders:

“Thank you for everything that you bring
to Elite. Your energy, encouragement,
and expertise is unparalleled. I’m a part
of other groups, but this is the one that
I walk in with a smile on my face and
leave with a full heart, mind, soul, and
an even bigger smile. Thank you!!!”.

Another simple thing you can do is send a small survey via email to your customers.

Extra points if you follow up with the ones that left positive reviews and ask if they’d be willing to leave you a short 30-60 second video testimonial.

Video testimonials are ooober powerful.

The second is Character Testimonials:

I can already hear some of you saying…

“What if I don’t have any customers yet?”

A simple yet powerful thing you can do is reach out to friends or peers and ask them if they would record a quick “character testimonial” for you. These can work wonders to help you get that momentum.

The third is “Wisdom of the Crowds”:

This kind of social proof appeals to our sense of FOMO.

When a lot of people are buying or using a product, others want to do the same!

A great way to do this online is to use a Proof pop up.

I’m sure you’ve seen this before.

On an opt-in page or sales page these little notifications pop up in the bottom left hand corner that say “John from Arizona purchased Sell From Stage Academy® 42mins ago”.

Believe it or not but these are real and they work extremely well.

We use UseProof for our verified purchases.

They can boost your conversions by as much as 10-15% – depending on the offer.

Now, I want you to ask, have you got enough social proof to show that you are credible and trustworthy to a new prospect?

If not, as I say to my students…get to work and gather it.
