How alcohol and making money as a coach are linked

Today I want to talk about an area that I don’t typically give a lot of attention to, with you – my audience.

And that is about getting rid of destructive personal behavior & beliefs…

Now by no means am I here to tell you how you should live your life.

I simply want to share with you what has worked for me.

You see, about 8 months ago I read a book by my good friend Annie Grace called This Naked Mind and it led me to stop drinking.

Now I didn’t stop because of any guilt or any force, but I was able to look from a completely different perspective, one that challenged & shattered my prior beliefs of why I even drank in the first place.

And since that time, my personal and business life have never been more fulfilling.

So I want you to ask yourself and look within – is there any type of behavior patterns within you that are hindering you?

If so, I want to share with you the 3 layers of belief that keep you stuck in addictive behavior. Annie Grace breaks this down in depth on this week’s podcast.

My experience has been that in order to overcome destructive behavior, you have to understand what beliefs you hold about that behavior in the first place.

Here are 3 layers of belief that keep you stuck:

Layer 1:

Is all about the substance. We have a set of beliefs that this thing is going to do something for us.

It can be alcohol, food, sugar, shopping, social media, etc…

In my case with alcohol, I had this belief that it helped me relax and destress. But in reality what I found was that drinking actually caused me more stress by releasing cortisol.

Layer 2:

Is about Society and the overall view the masses have on a particular belief. When you are getting hit by marketing from all angles about alcohol, unhealthy foods, keeping up with joneses etc… you have to be even more cognizant of ‘why’ you are actually indulging in that behavior.

Layer 3:

Now this is not always applicable but this layer is all about the beliefs you have about yourself. Oftentimes that negative behavior is used as a way to self medicate. If you take away the behavior without fixing the source of the issue, most of the time that behavior will be replaced with another one. It’s important to find the source.

It gets a whole lot easier to break a pattern of behavior when you understand the beliefs you have about that behavior.

These 3 layers will help you identify where those beliefs are rooted within.

All I can do is speak from experience…

And changing what was just a small negative pattern…

Has made a HUGE difference in my life.

If this resonates with you, I hope you’ll take a look into it more and listen to this week’s podcast.
