3 Secrets To Stop Delivering Presentations That Suck

1. Create Identity Tension

This is all about creating tension between who your audience doesn’t want to be and who they desire to become. This will show the audience a bigger vision of themselves and when you present your program they will buy into this identity.

The leading influencers know that people don’t buy programs they buy identities.

So, the more tension you can create between a struggling and a thriving person in your industry the more sales you’ll make and the more people you’ll serve.

How can you stretch the gap between struggling and successful identities in your industry?

When you nail this, you’ll grow your business faster.

2. Shift Miss-Guided Beliefs

The biggest part of selling programs is removing limiting or miss-guided beliefs. If you don’t remove miss-guided beliefs it’s like asking your clients to drive forward with the hand brake on.

For me, one example of a miss-guided belief is that “speaking is education, or speaking is entertainment”. If people think this, they will educate their audience, but they won’t have a business.

Now, don’t get me wrong, speaking can be all of those things. But there is one thing that the most successful experts in this industry believe about speaking, that you must also.

The truth is that “Speaking is Selling”. It’s about understanding your audience on a deep level and delivering ideas in a way that truly sells the audience on the idea.

Because until you sell your audience on your ideas you cannot truly serve them.

3. Create Clarity of Decision

I’ve been a paid speaker for over a decade now and after delivering thousands of hours on stage I’ve realized one distinction that separates the average and highly paid speakers.

The highly-paid speakers make the main goal of their presentation about making a decision.

There is so much value in communicating in a way to gets your audience to make a congruent decision.

You might think that providing how-to information is valuable, but the problem is that you can provide all of the how-to value in the world, but if your prospects have not made a clear decision that they are ready to implement the ideas, all of your efforts are in vain.
