You Need to Know This About Your New Clients

There’s a saying that goes…

“It’s easier to keep a customer than to get a new one”

But there should be a caveat attached to this.

It should read…

“It’s easier to keep a customer than to get a new one IF you wow them within the first 100 days

Why 100 days?

Because research shows that if they are still in love with you or your brand on day 101…

They’ll stay with you for about 5 years.

5 YEARS!!!

That’s why on this week’s episode of The Expert Edge, I brought Global Customer Retention Expert Joey Coleman on to share his wealth of knowledge with you in the area of customer experience and retention.

Here are a few of the many nuggets he dropped…(by the way, Joey charges more than $30k for less than an hour of his time at a conference, so it’s well worth taking a listen)

1. Be unexpectedly personal

People want proof that they matter. If you can prove they matter to you, they’ll stick around a lot longer. One of the most powerful ways to do this is to personalize the experience for them. A simple thing you can do is send a warm personalized welcome to them right after they sign up.

2. Reassure their feelings fast

After a purchase, especially a larger investment like that of a coaching service, your client will immediately start questioning whether they made the right choice. You need to address the emotional journey they are on.

3. Pace their experience

This is a chronic issue in the coaching space. Where we teach TOO much or give too much homework in our courses. As soon as they log in they are slapped in the face with 55 hours of training and homework to go along with it. Drip feeding the content is much better or creating a “start” where you want format.

I can’t describe how good the content is during this episode.
