The secret to selling more? It starts before you say a word.

Ever watch someone take the stage and without saying a word you’re already leaning in?

It’s not the lights.
It’s not the slides.
It’s not even the story (yet).

It’s their presence.

The energy they bring before the speech, before the promise, before the pitch.

I remember the first time I really saw this in action.

It was at a Tony Robbins event and when he walked out, the whole room changed.

Not because of what he said, but because of who he was being.

That’s when I realized: Stage presence isn’t just a “nice to have.” It’s a must-have if you want to master the stage and get clients.

Now I’m not saying that you have to be Tony Robbins, or be hyper energetic on stage.

It’s more an inner energy that you hold that permeates into the audience.

And it’s not just for stadiums and seminar halls. Your virtual presence matters just as much (maybe more, since it’s easier to zone out online than in row G, seat 12).

If your presentations have felt a little flat lately, or your close rate isn’t what it should be, this episode is for you.

Episode 282 | How To Create Bigger Stage Presence

Here’s a snippet of just 3 ways you can increase your stage presence immediately…

1. The answer is in the name “Presence”

To have presence, you must be present. This doesn’t come naturally to me, if you ask my wife she’ll tell you that I have squirrel brain. To understand presence you should first understand what distracts you from being present. Maybe you care about what the audience will think, or maybe you’re distracted by your own content.

To avoid the latter, I recommend you practice it out loud at least 5-6 times before the audience ever hears it.

During this episode, I shared my favorite strategy, which is called The Emotional Calibration Technique™. It takes you from squirrel brain to completely present and under 60 seconds! It’s magic. Listen here

2. Silence and space amplify authority

The loudest most powerful message you can send to your audience of confidence is silence. Not weird silence… but allowing space in your presentation and in your voice to not feel like you have to be rushed. This is one of the most powerful ways to project confidence.

Tip: At the start, look at your audience, especially during a live talk. Stand there for 4-6 seconds and look at them and connect with them. And then open straight into a story. This unconsciously sends a message that you are in control. Comfortable in discomfort. Your audience will learn to be comfortable with you. When they’re comfortable with you they trust you and buy from you.

3. Purposeful movements elevate power

This part is made up of movement. Movement should have a purpose. There should be eye contact. Your tone should not be an inflection tone but instead it should be a command tone. Your tempo should not be the same the whole time, it should vary.

Those are just a few snippets from this episode…(which I went really deep into examples and how you could do it also in your next presentation).

Make sure you tune in to really understand how to increase your stage presence.
