How to Thrive in a Down Market

When you’re in a down market, it’s easy to freak out.

Just the thought of it used to give me the stress sweats!

But over the years, I’ve learned quite a few lessons that have allowed us to grow our business this year, even though the market has been very uncertain…

In fact, last year we doubled our business and this year we are up another 23%.

I say none of that to impress you…

But to impress upon you that the tips I’m going to share with you work extremely well.

I go very deep into this during this week’s solo episode of The Expert Edge.

But as always I want to give you a sneak peak down below of 3 strategies to thrive in a down market.

1. Reset your narrative

You’ll always either be in a place of cause or effect. You have to get out of “effect”. When you’re in effect – It means you’re putting the power of your life into an external factor. If you say things like “My business isn’t growing because of xyz” Or “I can’t launch my webinar yet because of xyz” Then you’re in a state of effect. Whatever comes after “because” is the effect.

2. Elevate your avatar

A lot of coaches who are struggling are doing so because their sole focus is on beginners. Mainly those that aren’t established at all. In down markets, people who have money still have money. What you want to do if you fall into this category is to also mix in or shift your focus to a higher level avatar. For example, instead of targeting “professional women” you might instead target “professional female executives”. Look at how you can add a higher income bracket avatar to market to.

3. Make your offer actually irresistible

You may be saying you already have one. But if people aren’t buying it often, then you don’t have an irresistible offer. If you fall into this category. Ask yourself, “What can I add to this to make it truly irresistible?” Put yourself in your avatar’s shoes. What are their massive pain points and desires? What could make the implementation of your course even easier?

Those are just a few strategies that you can use right away to avoid down markets.
