How to Sell a Non-Money-Making Offer (That People Still Happily Pay For)

How to Sell a Non-Money-Making Offer (That People Still Happily Pay For)

I’ve been getting this question a lot lately from my community: “Colin, how do I sell my coaching offer when I don’t help people make money directly?”

If you’re a relationship coach, a parenting expert, a health advisor, or really anyone whose transformation isn’t directly tied to dollars and cents in your client’s pocket, this can feel like a real challenge.

When you see business coaches flashing income screenshots and ROI promises, it’s easy to feel like you’re at a disadvantage.

But I’m here to tell you that’s simply not true.

In fact, some of the most successful students help with transformations that have nothing to do with making money.

The key difference?

They know how to articulate value in a way that resonates deeply.

I remember when I first started as a life coach. I struggled with this exact problem. I knew my coaching created profound changes in people’s lives, but how do you put a price tag on confidence, clarity, or inner peace?

My clients would rave about their results, but I struggled to get new people to sign up. Deep down, I worried if this was sustainable long-term.

Sound familiar?

I went DEEP into this on this weeks podcast called: How To Sell a ‘Non Make Money’ Offer

Here are the three concepts that I went deep into on the podcast:

1. Showcase the Full Transformation

It’s not enough to say “I help people improve their relationships.” You need to paint the vivid before-and-after picture. One of my students who’s a relationship coach doesn’t just talk about “better communication” – she highlights how her clients went from contemplating divorce and living like roommates to rediscovering intimacy and planning date nights again. The transformation goes far beyond the relationship itself into how it affects every area of their lives.

2. Make Your Process Uniquely Yours

If your process sounds like everyone else’s, people will generalize your value. If you’re in an industry where you don’t help people make money directly you must have a unique approach to what you do. this makes you the go-to person for that solution because you are the only one who can provide that unique methodology for getting the result that they want. What’s your signature methodology that only YOU can deliver?

3. Help Them Quantify Their Own Value

This was a breakthrough moment. During a coaching call with one of my Elite students who helps parents foster healthy food relationships with their children, I guided her through a powerful exercise:

First, dig deep into the challenges: “What external and internal impact is this problem having on your life right now?”

Then, paint the resolution picture: “If this was completely resolved, how would life be different?”

Finally, the magic question: “If I could guarantee that resolution right now, what number would represent the value of that to you?”

When people assign their own value to the transformation, it becomes real to them. One parent realized they’d happily pay $10,000+ to resolve their child’s eating issues because of the stress, medical concerns, and family tension it was causing.

I want to challenge you to ask yourself:

  • Are you showcasing the full journey and transformation your clients experience?
  • Is your process unique and presented in a way that only you can deliver?
  • Are you helping prospects reach their “I’m done with this problem” moment?

Think about how much money you want to make versus how much you’re currently making. That gap represents what not having a high-converting presentation is costing you every year.

If you’re a coach, course creator, or speaker who wants to build a presentation that articulately communicates your value and consistently converts clients, that’s exactly what we teach in our Sell From Stage Elite program. Reply with the word “ELITE”, and I’d love to chat about whether you’d be a good fit.

Here’s to your success selling transformations (not just dollars),
