The #1 pattern for insane business growth

Every expert I know has mastery patterns running in one area of their life and dabbling patterns destroying another.

Crushing it in business, health is a disaster.

Amazing relationship, business is stalled.

Built a beautiful family, bank account feels embarrassing.

And here’s the wild part: the framework that creates success in one area is identical to the framework that creates success in every other area.

You already know how to do this.

You’re just not applying it everywhere.

Today I’m sharing a simple four-level model I recently taught to my Inner Circle Mastermind (Experts doing $300K+/year) and my Elite coaching group.

It’s a life coaching framework I learned 18 years ago that still hits harder than anything I’ve found since.

It’ll show you exactly where you’re running mastery patterns, where you’re running dabbling patterns, and how to shift from one to the other.

This is fundamental. This is the stuff that actually drives growth when everything else feels uncertain.

Listen now: Episode 311 | The 4 Patterns Of Growth

Here’s the framework and how to apply it immediately:

1. Level One: Feels good + Good for you = The magic moments

This is work you love doing with clients you enjoy. Walking in nature. Meaningful conversations. Designing content that lights you up. These are the experiences that add value to you and others. This is where you want to live as much as possible.

2. Level Two: Doesn’t feel good + Good for you = Growth

Buying your first house felt terrifying but was good for your future. Starting your business was uncomfortable but necessary. Running your first webinar sucked but built your business. This is the mastery pattern: doing hard things that produce beautiful results.

3. Level Three: Feels good + Not good for you = The trap

Scrolling instead of creating content. Gaming instead of building your presentation. A drink to “relax” after work. These give you a quick dopamine hit but move you away from your goals. This is where the dabbling pattern starts.

4. Level Four: Doesn’t feel good + Not good for you = The spiral

When you keep choosing Level Three experiences, you end up here: anxious, depressed, self-judging, unproductive. And what do we do when we feel like crap? We reach for Level Three again (more scrolling, more drinking, more distraction). That’s the dabbling pattern loop.

5. The mastery pattern vs. the dabbling pattern

Mastery: Level One → Level Two → Level One. You do what feels good and is good, then push into discomfort that creates growth, which produces more Level One experiences. Dabbling: Level Three → Level Four → Level Three → Level Four. You escape into short-term pleasure, feel like crap, escape again, repeat. Same cycle, different results.

I know I just ran through them above, but seriously, this podcast is worth a listen.

If you’re not creating the results you want in an area of your life, you’re probably running a dabbling pattern there.

The good news? You already know how to run mastery patterns. You’re doing it somewhere.

Now you just need to apply it everywhere.
