I’ve been noticing an interesting thing lately…
There’s a certain energy in the air right now that’s affecting all of us—whether we realize it or not.
The current energetic economy is dominated by:
- Fear
- Uncertainty
- Disillusionment
Sound familiar?
I’m seeing these emotions everywhere—in my conversations with friends, clients, business communities, and frankly, sometimes in my own thoughts.
But here’s what I want you to remember today: The challenges you face create who you are.
If you overcome big challenges, you expand into a bigger person.
And I truly believe you’ll never be given a challenge that you cannot handle, even when it feels overwhelming in the moment.
I go deep into how to overcome discouragement, disappointment, and feeling stuck on the Expert Edge Podcast today.

The 3 Mindset Traps That Keep Coaches Stuck
I’ve identified three critical mistakes that keep talented coaches and course creators stuck in these uncertain times:
1. Thinking that disappointment and difficulty are signs that you will fail longterm
I remember losing a major contract that I had been counting on. It felt like the floor had dropped out from under me. The disillusionment was real, and for a while, I wondered if this was a sign that I wasn’t cut out for this business.
But you know what? That disappointment wasn’t a sign of future failure—it was actually the catalyst I needed to restructure my entire business model. The model I use today (which has generated millions) would never have existed without that painful loss.
2. Looking at people’s social media and thinking it’s easier for them
Let me pull back the curtain for you. Some of the most “successful” people I know—the ones posting about their 7-figure launches and lavish lifestyles—are dealing with incredible personal challenges behind the scenes.
Just last week, I was speaking with a well-known industry leader who appears to have it all together online. In private, they shared that they’re going through a difficult health challenge and having significant team issues all at once.
The highlight reel isn’t always reality.
The challenges are universal.
3. Waiting for a better economy, circumstance, or season to make the change you want
This is perhaps the most dangerous trap of all. There is never a “perfect” time.
My wife Sarah was diagnosed with cancer right around the time we were wanting to start having kids and launch our business. It would have been so easy to put everything on hold, to say “now isn’t the right time.”
Instead, her illness and subsequent healing sparked something in us—a deep desire to do something significant with our lives. It was during this difficult season, not after it, that we actually started our business and began seeing tremendous growth.
Stop waiting for the perfect time. It doesn’t exist.
Start going after your dreams today, challenges and all.
The economy might be uncertain, but your ability to adapt and serve is a constant. The world needs your expertise now more than ever.
