Have you noticed someone completely command the stage as soon as they stepped on it?
Where you could feel it energetically…
I remember the first time I experienced this.
It was at a Tony Robbins event, and I’ll never forget how he shifted the energy in the room just by his stage presence.
It was palpable.
But did you know that it’s just as important to have “stage presence” from virtual stages?
(That is if you want the maximum number of people to join your programs.)
>>>The greater the stage presence you bring to your presentation, the greater the results.
The beautiful thing is, stage presence (both virtual and live) can absolutely be learned.
I recorded a masterclass on this topic as this week’s FREE episode of The Expert Edge.
Here’s a snippet of just 3 ways you can increase your stage presence immediately…
1. The answer is in the name “Presence”
To have presence, you must be present. This doesn’t come naturally to me, if you ask my wife she’ll tell you that I have squirrel brain. To understand presence you should first understand what distracts you from being present. Maybe you care about what the audience will think, or maybe you’re distracted by your own content.
To avoid the latter, I recommend you practice it out loud at least 5-6 times before the audience ever hears it.
On the episode, I shared my favorite strategy, which is called The Emotional Calibration Technique™. It takes you from squirrel brain to completely present and under 60 seconds! It’s magic.
2. Allowing for space
The loudest most powerful message you can send to your audience of confidence is silence. Not weird silence… but allowing space in your presentation and in your voice to not feel like you have to be rushed. This is one of the most powerful ways to project confidence.
Tip: At the start, look at your audience, especially during a live talk. Stand there for 4-6 seconds and look at them and connect with them. And then open straight into a story. This unconsciously sends a message that you are in control. Comfortable in discomfort. Your audience will learn to be comfortable with you. When they’re comfortable with you they trust you and buy from you.
2. Your body delivery
This part is made up of movement. Movement should have a purpose. There should be eye contact. Your tone should not be an inflection tone but instead it should be a command tone. Your tempo should not be the same the whole time, it should vary.
Those are just a few snippets from this episode…(which I went really deep into examples and how you could do it also in your next presentation).
Make sure you tune in to really understand how to increase your stage presence.
