The course was one of the better ones, if not the best of this genre that I have attended over the years, with a good presenter.  I found the course topics were very relevant to myself and to the management of my team. The course content was fairly wide but relevant, fast-paced but interactive and descriptive enough for me to gain some new knowledge and also to refine on some of the things that I already know.  What I really appreciated was the ‘kitbag’ of tools that were provided for me and having to take my own notes.  The tools/ techniques  are easily deployable and to the point and will enable me to lead my team more effectively. I immediately used 5 things to do per day and the 90-day plan.  I will also be using the 6/ 4-format process, but there are many more tools to use –  I am a child in a lolly shop once again!

Prior to our coaching I had difficulty communicating and influencing other people. My projects were going well overall, But I felt like it required a lot of time and effort to effectively get the point across.

Colin gave me strategies and guidelines that I can use.  I gave them a go and saw some good outcomes. A real understanding of my leadership abilities and key strengths, and how my behaviour affected those directly reporting to me

“The challenges I was facing prior to the coaching included high levels of anxiety around my performance and how others viewed me. I struggled to find time for myself and achieve balance due to a lack of delegation and a strong need for control at work, plus I had difficulties seeing situations from a positive perspective.

The most valuable learnings from the coaching was a real understanding of my leadership abilities and key strengths, and how my behaviour affected those directly reporting to me and how this was impacting their sense of value, motivation and achievement.

The outcomes I achieved was an ability to delegate more effectively allowing my team leaders to shine through demonstrating their own strengths.
